To assist in the administration of transportation and ocean export support services.
To perform routine activities aimed at achieving quality requirements, cost effective transportation alternatives and customer service.
**Main Qualifications**:
- Responsibilities include scheduling and booking export shipments.
- Handling of ocean FCL Export Shipments.
- Shipment's pickup arrangements and planning.
- Conformity verification of all documentation at time of shipment preparation in compliance with US customs requirements.
- Building and maintaining good relations with carriers.
- Read, monitor and respond promptly to all incoming communications in order to properly manage and control daily operational issues.
- Verify bookings and get appropriate approvals when needed from overseas.
- Tracking and tracing of shipments from beginning to final destination.
- Solving in a timely and business efficient manner customer complaints and implement measures to prevent them from reoccurring.
- Solving of internal and operation problems in a timely and business efficient manner in order to prevent service deficiencies and/or customer's dissatisfaction.
- Improving on an ongoing basis internal systems and procedures in order to excel in customer service and departmental efficiency.
- Ability to handle a high volume of daily workload
- Has frequent contact with several other departments within the organization to resolve customer concerns and/or questions.
- Assess needs and suggest/promote alternative services
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
- Responsible for monitoring work queues for new requests.
- Responsible for completing assigned tasks within SLA targets (i.e.
ticket resolution, logistics execution, etc.)
- Undertakes all actions required by system and updates database continually.
- Assists in identifying areas to improve communications and efficiency of operations and implementing changes.
Partners with clients in improving processes by recommending solutions and referrals to policies/procedures, SMEs or contracted vendors.
- The job also requires performing other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Bachelor's degree (or advanced studies) from an accredited university in Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration or related field
- Infor Nexus working knowledge (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years equivalent work experience in Logistics, Customs (Import and Export), Transportation (Tracking, clearance, record, receiving)
- Fully Bilingual: English and Spanish (French is a plus)
- Experience in Trade Compliance requirements for Import and Export, Bill of Ladings, IMO Declaration, Hazardous Shipments, Country of origin, INCOTERMS, HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule)
- Customs and Logistics Terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Customer service skills
- Excellent Communication skills (oral & written)
- Detail oriented/accurate and thorough
- Advanced English Level C1
