Role Overview:
Huntsman Corporation's Regional Supply Chain team is searching for an experienced Logistics Engineer in our newly formed hub in Costa Rica.
Reporting to the Regional Logistics Manager, you will ensure supply plans support global demand plans with the minimum inventory required for your portfolio.
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient systems for the transportation and storage of goods, often including the optimization of transportation routes, the design of warehouse layouts, and the selection of equipment and materials handling systems.
The focus of the team will be to support our Advanced Materials divisions for the Americas region.
We are looking for someone with excellent analytical skills with an eye for process improvement, with an interest in logistics research, development and new technologies.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Logistics Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing and taking part in Logistics Service Providers (LSP) performance review meetings and supporting a continuous improvement process with the LSPs
- Managing LSP performance and participation in negotiation support Purchasing department
- Managing trouble shooting in relation to external warehouses and LSPs
- Supporting fulfillment of On-Time target for shipments
- Addressing deviation of LSP Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and maintain an appropriate level of execution
- Improving and optimizing all the follow in term of lead time and efficiency.
- Initiating improvements in all warehousing and/or LSP
- Process NPI requests for IMP
- Setup new external users & maintain vendors
- Ensure all activities are aligned with EHS requirements
- Be a key contact to set up new business solutions in front of customer opportunities and setting new logistics channels if necessary
- Manage all aspects of business and logistics for the region
Experience and Competencies:
What we are looking for:
- Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain, with professional experience in a similar role in a manufacturing company.
- Skills in budget management, financial control and high sea freight rules.
- Fluent English and Spanish
- Strong analytical skills, with a data orientated mindset.
- Expertise in inventory management
- Solutions oriented with the ability to build up specific Logistics alternatives for customers and suppliers.
