Lead Software Engineer (Ruby/React) - What You'll Do: The Lead Software Engineer role at OfficeSpace is to design, build, and maintain high quality world class software, and to coach and mentor other developers to help others succeed.
Responsibilities include: Work on internet-scale applications, where performance, reliability, and scalability, are critical design goals – not after-thoughts.
Create beautiful, interactive, and easy-to-use web applications using modern client-side frameworks and libraries including React and Ruby.
Gain experience with different database technologies, ranging from traditional relational to the latest NoSQL products such as Elasticsearch.
Execute multiple projects in parallel and ensure the on-time release of well-tested and reliable code.
Providing technical expertise and mentorship to associate-level team members and help to define and drive best practices across the team.
Use development techniques to optimize software across a vast array of devices and browsers and discuss the trade-offs between various approaches.
The Skills, Experience, and Mindset Required: 7+ years of object-oriented backend development experience working within Ruby on Rails.
7+ years of proficient in JavaScript/ES6 and React.
Experience with common front-end development tools such as HTML5, CSS preprocessors, and Webpack and NPM. Highly proficient with version control systems, especially GIT.
Experience working with relational databases (MariaDB). Experience using and implementing GraphQL as well as document/NoSQL storage (Redis, Elasticsearch) nice to have, but not required. Why OfficeSpace?
