Amazon is seeking an experienced manager to partner with Technology suppliers with presence in LATAM (OEMs & VARs), internal business owners, and key stake holders to facilitate hardware acquisition and create operational value for Amazon's IT Services (ITS). This role is expected to operate strategically and help standardize vendor governance, operating standards, and value stream mapping.
This organization will manage in parallel strategic long-term hardware decision making while keeping control of tactical processing, and efficiency focused with growth expectations into tools development, automation, scale and increased vendor management opportunities.
**Position Overview**: As a Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies for our LATAM business to secure the best suppliers and vendors for our organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, supply chain, and product development, to identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and optimize the sourcing process. The primary goal of this role is to ensure the availability of high-quality products or services while achieving cost savings and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Key job responsibilities
**Strategic Sourcing**:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies to identify and onboard suppliers that meet the organization's quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess their capabilities, and evaluate market trends to ensure a competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine sourcing needs, specifications, and requirements for various products or services.
**Supplier Evaluation and Selection**:
- Evaluate potential suppliers based on predefined criteria, including quality standards, capacity, financial stability, compliance, and sustainability practices.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure adherence to ethical, environmental, and social standards.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements, including pricing, terms, and conditions, with selected suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
**Supplier Relationship Management**:
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with LATAM suppliers, acting as a point of contact for addressing issues, resolving conflicts, and managing supplier performance.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance regularly, including quality, delivery, and service levels, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize processes, and enhance product or service quality.
**Risk Management and Compliance**:
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to supplier performance, market fluctuations, geopolitical factors, and regulatory changes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, ethical practices, and corporate policies throughout the sourcing process.
- Stay updated on LATAM industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in sourcing and supply chain management.
