The ITAM Software Catalog Librarian (Senior Manager-IT Asset Management) applies the understanding
of software, hardware, license models, and request management to manage the software catalog and
software license entitlement positions for the organization.
They will work collaboratively to define and
support best practices, drive adherence to process, and coordinate IT Asset related projects.
**Responsibilities**:
This role's objectives include managing, monitoring and supporting Moody's software catalog and
matter expertise and previous experience successfully executing a large, complex, enterprise software
asset management program.
- Manage updates, modifications, and inactivations for all software products in the catalog based on
standard processes and requests from stakeholders and Central IT
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of all software model data points in the Software Catalog within
ServiceNow
- Lead team with updates to the user experience of the software catalog; working with IT and project
management teams
- Responsible for maintaining and updating software and hardware categories, subcategories,
descriptions, and icons in the catalog
- Research software product descriptions, versions and features to ensure software products are up
to date
- Own and define the strategic approach to risk identification, prevention, and license optimization;
Own, define and prioritize the license optimization activity
- Communicate effectively with IT, business end users, Procurement/Sourcing, Legal, and InfoSec to
ensure ongoing structured maintenance and improvement to the catalog are clearly documented
and executed
- Liaison with New Tech Governance and InfoRisk teams on the request of new software
- Partner with the Sourcing to provide information on software license counts, metrics, usage, as well
as provide input on terms that impact licensing during renewals and true ups
- Provide catalog reporting and analysis to support other technology related projects (e.g., lifecycle
management)
- Utilize Flexera SAM discovery tool to assess tool capabilities for software discovery, inventory, and
meter software usage for key vendor publishers and provide analysis of the software data
- Partner with ServiceNow administrator to ensure data integrity and ongoing enhancement of the
CMDB (Configuration Management Database) that integrates with Flexera
- Assist in software publisher audits by providing license entitlement data when necessary
- Assist ITAM team with software ticket requests and incidents via ServiceNow
- Monitor and document the enterprise's software requirements and implement into processes and
controls
- Bachelor's degree and minimum 3+ years of direct work experience
- 3-5 years data management experience
- 3-5 years project management experience
- Experience in software licensing models and industry best practices for efficient software lifecycle
management
- General knowledge and hands-on experience with asset management tools (Flexera, SCCM, JAMF,
etc.
), ServiceNow and CMDB.
- Highly organized, efficient and detail-oriented self-starter that can work independently and in a team
setting with multiple stakeholders across a large diverse organization
- Strong detail orientation, organization and time management skills
- Must have excellent inter-personal skills, customer service and the ability to multi-task and prioritize
with great initiative and can-do attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- IAITAM or similar certifications (CSAM)
