About the role: A business architect is a strategic role responsible for enabling business transformation by aligning strategic objectives and tactical demands.
High level activities include, but not limited to: operating and business model analysis, synergizing with multiple business entities, developing capability maps and other artifacts, and assisting in the technology enablement of core capabilities and value streams.
This role will be a key partner during the product commercialization process aligning business outcomes with solution components required to efficiently achieve those outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include: Participate in the development of a variety of business analysis activities through business architecture, including: Gathering information Conducting research Analyzing business needs Document information in EA System of Record Produce relevant artifacts to effectively communicate results and recommendations Validate analysis deliverable with business subject matter experts and/or systems partners Develop a foundational understanding of business architecture elements aligned to business objectives Facilitate business analysis discussions using business architecture methodology and techniques Develop knowledge of other business departments and systems department structures and processes as necessary Work under general direction and establish business relationships Partner with stakeholders to document and communicate values generated from the new capabilities and processes Guide technology investment decisions based on analysis and evaluation to drive targeted business outcomes Identify innovative uses of technology to provide a competitive advantage for BSC Research industry trends in architecture disciplines and uses them to develop IT architecture strategies in support BSC's enterprise-wide IT strategies.
Anticipate future architectural risks based on industry trends and business needs at the enterprise level Ensure architectural adherence for the services developed by Enterprise Architecture.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline 5+ years in business and/or system analysis, design and development 1+ years experience in Architecture Experience with business process modeling and journey mapping Experience facilitating, leading, or being a part of multi-disciplined, high-performance teams Knowledge of designing and constructing business capabilities, value streams, business processes Strong written and verbal skills including proficiency in tailoring communications depending on stakeholder.
Working knowledge of current technology trends across the industry.
Preferred qualifications: Experience in the medical device or life sciences industry.
Familiarity with and usage of the BIZBOK Guide in practice Understand Strategic Planning process and how IT Strategy supports business needs and direction Certification Possesses a strong working knowledge of business area practices and workflow Ability to visualize growth and build high-level models for future analysis and maturing the current business architecture?
