The International Freight Settlement Analyst will have responsibility for freight auditing and rate validation related to Import and Export shipments. This includes reviewing freight shipments details and providing payment status updates in accordance with 3M contracts. Additional responsibilities are expected such as provide more robust and sustainable management and maintenance of international freight payment activity, take the lead in reconciling major escalations to prevent credit holds or business-stoppage, disputes, credits, and refund management, handling carrier's statements of account among others.
Workstream description:
The Logistics and Execution (LEX) workstream is focused on optimizing the logistics department's processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce waste. This includes North American and global tasks, with the goal of improving customer satisfaction and avoiding extra costs.
You will be part of a team that includes the entire logistics department: including inbound and outbound shipments for different transportation modes (air, ocean and domestic), inventory management, customs compliance, master data, freight settlement and transportation management.

- Became the main point of contact or department dedicated to holistically oversee account management and invoicing processes for 3M's external carrier network for U.S. import and export transportation expenses.
- Lead and drive projects to enhance freight-settlement processes.
- Full oversight of all account activity
- Liaison between external parties and internal departments.
- Review and approval of charges and disputes submission.
- Leads by providing service delivery and data quality analysis, proactive communications to clients, professional updates, and reporting.
- Implements new ideas to promote continuous improvement culture and understand automation tools.
- Determines and identifies common quality mistakes and recommends solutions to not-so-complicated problems.
- Supports other work group analysts in completing assigned operations and analytical tasks. Also, assists work group analysts in monitoring changes to procedures at assigned locations to satisfy transportation objectives.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university in Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- One (1+) years of years equivalent work experience in Freight Audit, Logistics, AP in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Advance English B2+.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Required.
Soft skills:

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Adaptability to changes and adapt effectively in response.
- Flexibility and resiliency are inherent in the job responsibilities.
Technical skills:
- Basic knowledge of freight bill analysis, validation, and freight classifications. Payments, fees and cost and other freight terminology required.
- Understanding of the different shipping modes and applicable rates/pricing (carrier rules tariffs, discounts).
