**Role Summary**:
The Splunk Communications Team drives unique storytelling and creative communications that inspire, inform, align and create an emotional connection to Splunk and our impact. The communications team spans public relations, social media and influencers, social impact, executive, and employee communications.
Splunk is seeking an Internal Comms Specialist to lead all aspects of our company intranet - Pwny ("pony") Portal - including user experience, visual design, content oversight, advancing best practices, evangelizing Pwny as the "single source of truth" for Splunkers, and vendor management.
As the Splunk Intranet Operations Lead, you will work closely with Internal Communications and cross-functional teams across Splunk to ensure Pwny continues to make valued and useful contributions to Splunk's overall employee communication programs.
**What you'll get to do**:
- Oversee the day to day operations and management of Splunk's employee Simpplr based intranet; PWNY. This includes collaborating with a small and nimble global community of content owners and editors, maintaining overall quality control on content and design as well as developing and implementing policies and standards to ensure effective and engaging intranet content that meets the needs of the business.
- The Splunk Intranet Operations Lead will also be responsible for driving engagement, encouraging adoption of Splunk collaboration tools and insightful analytics to key Splunk stakeholders.
- Maintain and improve Pwny's visual design, site navigation and overall site structure.
- Work closely with key stakeholders (principally through our Internal Communications team) to understand needs, create and improve their Pwny presence.
- Consult with Splunk Information Technology Services on regular software upgrades, technical questions and site enhancements. Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Serve as primary liaison with Simpplr (intranet vendor) and ensure we're making full and appropriate use of available intranet tools.
- Manage the PWNY homepage to ensure content is current, easy to access and engaging.
- Create page and site graphics family and process..
- Develop and execute activities to better engage Splunkers on Pwny (e.g., profile pages).
- Monitor site analytics and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Communicate Pwny updates and enhancements with all main stakeholder and user groups, including the Internal Communications team.
- Conduct regular office hours to support site owners.
- Create a community of site owners to regularly advance best practices.
- Ensure new Splunkers understand Pwny and the best ways to use the intranet.
- Work with Internal Comms colleagues to communicate Pwny enhancements and promote engagements.
- Supports a consistent Splunk Brand Identity
**Must-have Qualifications**:
- 3 to 5 years implementing or managing web sites or intranets
- Strong work ethic and creative problem solver
- Basic understanding of HTML and components of common web technology
- Excellent verbal and written (English) communication skills
- Excellent organizational and project coordination skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacy
- Familiarity with a business environment
- Internal Communications experience is a plus
