Working as part of the corporate accounting team, the Intercompany Accounting Lead will manage intercompany accounts for approximately 200 legal entities, a key position interacting with internal stakeholders across the globe.
The role will serve as the Center of Excellence for intercompany accounting, managing intercompany transactions, policies, communication and company-wide reconciliation of intercompany account activity.
The position will oversee the netting and settlement process of global intercompany balances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the communication and implementation of intercompany policies and procedures
- Ensure proper intercompany accounting on multiple legal entities and ledgers
- Working with the global teams, ensure timely and accurate review of Intercompany financial results
- Work with accounting contacts to ensure intercompany transactions are recorded properly across all systems for both US and local GAAP
- Monitor pending intercompany requests and oversee parties who will need to action such requests
- Perform matching analysis and coordinate with partners to resolve any differences
- Monitor accuracy of intercompany accounting classifications from various sources
- Monitor and prepare monthly journal entries for the global intercompany netting process used in the settlement of intercompany balances
- Lead monthly review of intercompany loans and interest calculations
- Lead all closing activities for intercompany accounting
- Responsible for the timely and accurate review, posting and reconciliation of month-end close reporting of intercompany relationships
- Identify process improvement opportunities and partner with technology team to deliver key automation projects
- Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley procedures, statutory, tax, and audit requests
- Understand end-to-end intercompany accounting processes, including the related financial systems, source transactions, and reporting
- Oversee global intercompany transactions, acting as a liaison between treasury, tax, and accounting
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting
- 4+ years of accounting experience with a Big 4 Accounting firm and/or Large public company
