The Industrial Engineering (IE) Department manages factory capacity strategy and layout planning, equipment purchases and inventory management, and drives efficiency in productivity and cost to meet customer demand.
As part of the Assembly and Test Manufacturing (ATM) Industrial Engineering student worker will work across business units to innovate and drive equipment productivity to world class levels.
**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
- Planning plant, production facilities and equipment layouts.
- Determines the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
- Develops metrics to measure equipment and factory capacity and output, and to identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks.
- May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may plan and schedule training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
- Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
Based on these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
- Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur.
- Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.
- Discipline, attentiveness to detail and the ease to work under limited supervision.
- Talent for handling multiple assignments in a timely manner while meeting assigned deadlines.

**Qualifications**
Requirements listed above could be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork, classes and/or research projects.
**_Minimum Qualifications:_**
- Active student of bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Product Engineering or related field of study.
- 70% of courses approved.
- Costa Rica Work Permit.
- Intermediate English Level.

Preferred Qualifications:_**
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Power Point, etc.).
- Experience with statistical tools: JMP, or similar.
- Experience with reporting tools: Power BI, PowerPoint, or similar.
