Work Flexibility: HybridJob description:Supervise the activities to ensure that the organization meets its tax obligations and objectives and complies with all relevant laws and regulations.
Activities may include undertaking research; evaluating the legality and tax effectiveness of current and future business activities; preparing and submitting tax returns, tax declarations, and other required reports; maintaining tax records; and corresponding with external tax agencies or consultants.
What you will do:Tax DepartmentSupport the goal and strategy of the global tax departmentSupport the delivery of continuous process improvementsVAT ComplianceManagement of VAT compliance activities for various jurisdictions including overseeing all VAT payments & refundsSupport the team with VAT reporting queries & assist in driving resolution of issuesDeal with VAT audits & ensure all queries from tax authorities are replied to in a timely mannerReconciliation of VAT returns to VAT GLs to include proactively resolving reconciling items avoiding aged itemsManage the internal statutory auditProvide training to AP, AR and intercompany teams to ensure correct reporting of VAT – right first timeEnsure core processes are documented including clearly identified risks and points of controlProvides meaningful data insights to stakeholders within Stryker to enable timely and informed decision making.What you needMaster's degree (preferably in a related field or equivalent experience) with education in Indirect Tax.Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in indirect tax within a multinational company or large advisory firm with a complex VAT structure.Expertise in VAT laws and regulations across European countries.Strong knowledge of accounting processes, SOX controls, and ERP systems.Proven track record of initiating and successfully completing VAT projects.Experience with multiple ERPs, advanced Excel skills, and a strong interest in automation.Travel Percentage: 20%
