**Portfolio Manager, Global Network Services**:
**Position Summary**:
The GNS Portfolio Manager has responsibility for strategic leadership and implementation of high-profile Thermo Fisher Business Unit Global Network Project Portfolios as part of the Corporate Information Security (CIS) team. The Portfolio Manager will work closely with Business Unit IT and Global Network Services teams to drive efficiency and effectiveness of Portfolios in support of business goals and objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Portfolio Management
- Prioritize and lead strategy deployment & governance for GNS Portfolios
- Ensure alignment of Portfolios to Business Unit and GNS requirements
- Secure business justification, gain executive alignment, plan, and implement effective Business Unit Global Network Portfolios.
- Present to leadership on key performance indicators for GNS Portfolio initiatives.
- Identify and implement Portfolios to drive practical process improvement (PPI/Lean) to improve investment recovery and the value of GNS Portfolio(s)
- Ensure identification, management, automation, and regular tracking of Portfolio metrics.
- Ensure appropriate tools and techniques are available and employed by the project teams to enable them to meet their assigned objectives successfully.
- Build, develop, and grow business relationships key to the success of Portfolios.
- Develop, implement, and train others on methodologies and tools for Portfolio execution and management.
- Create processes to show return on investment for GNS Portfolios (e.g. risk reduction, regulatory compliance, data/system protection, and efficiency gains)
- Mentor colleagues on Portfolio management standard practices
- Project Management
- Successfully lead large and complex projects for GNS as required.
- Maintain an assortment of small project efforts in support of the larger Portfolio.
- Support the detailed planning and management of projects by GNS as needed to ensure successful completion.
- Raise, explain, and offer proactive solutions when risks/issues to projects are causing failure or inability to complete on time or budget.
- Continuously improve processes, tasks, and milestones using feedback and lessons learned as input into existing or future project plans.
- Ensure project targets are met by actively following up with project managers through appropriate resource, issue, and risk management.
- Assist or lead the development of business requirements, solution design & delivery, testing and service transition.
- Verify execution of work in compliance with the defined project management framework and corporate processes
- Maintain the appropriate metrics related to project activities and submit in accordance with required procedures.
- Coach, mentor, empower and lead project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Review project closeouts and create a recommendations' report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Maintain current knowledge and expertise in project management disciplines, as well as multiple business processes and/or technical areas.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
**Requirements/Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or Project Management
- 10+ years of a consistent record leading IT projects
- 5+ years of strategic Portfolio management
- Experienced in running large sophisticated Portfolios
- PMP certification and/or equivalent Portfolio management experience
- Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Network, or Risk Management work experience highly preferred
- Ability to balance the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of individual decisions
- Experience in delivery of successful Enterprise level IT Portfolios
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand the final result and how to translate that result into useful processes
- Validated conflict resolution skills
- Good interpersonal and excellent documentation skills
- Advanced knowledge in creating and maintaining management level and detailed project plans
- Excellent customer service skills required
- Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into operational requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact efficiently and authoritatively across a diverse group of executives, managers, and network domain experts
- Detail oriented with good interpersonal and time management skills
- Ability to lead and influence colleagues at all levels toward a strategic goal
- Up to 20% travel
