Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Accountant
Come join World Vision International's Shared Services Department as a General Ledger Accountant and contribute to our ultimate goal of empowering the lives of women and children across the globe with your professional skillset.
Major Responsibilities:
- Upload/import journals including budget and actual transactions.
- Journals imported timely and correctly
- Cleaning of temporary accounts
- At the end of the month, the temporary accounts must be at zero
- Processing of Output files for Concur SAP, for different countries
- Journals Processing day by day
- To archive journals and other documents
- Journals and other documents properly archived and preserved
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- Functional knowledge of accounting processes
- Flexibility and ability to work on different aspects of the general ledger
- A good knowledge of best practices within a project accounting environment and how to drive performance through better behaviors
- Ability to perform and direct root cause analysis over various aspects of performance
- Knowledge of technology; including data structure, analysis codes and business rules
- Familiarity with multidimensional reporting concepts and structures
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Highly organized
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and flexible hours as needed; ability to drive results and meet strict deadlines
Experience
- At least 6 months experience in GL
- Minimum Technical degree in accounting
- Basic knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Education
- Technical degree in accounting or beginning (first year) university studies in Finance, Administration or Accounting
