**JOB TITLE**: General Accountant JOB SUMMARY The Senior Staff Accountant reports to the CR Operations Finance Manager and is responsible for assisting in the monthly general ledger close, balance sheet and income statement variance analysis, ad hoc accounting analysis and maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, including sub ledger to ledger reconciliations and account reconciliations.
The primary function of this role is to provide managerial and functional support for the Finance function in the Record-to-Report (RTR) process stream of Costa Rica.
The position will play a key role in the month-end close and audit functions.
General areas of responsibility include General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Travel and Expense, Accounts Receivables.
Other areas of responsibility may be added depending on the needs of the department.
This position will be involved in accounting decisions and reporting financial results timely and accurately in accordance with International Financial Accounting Standards (IFRS).
In addition, this position will be responsible for maintaining a control environment in compliance with Japan Sarbanes-Oxley (JSOX) and will be involved in control decisions affecting the North America organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Processes Journal entries for month-end close, including subledger to ledger reconciliations.
Prepares financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.
Assists in documentation and monitoring of JSOX internal controls.
Ensure Intergroup accounts balance Completes account reconciliations.
Assists in preparing supporting schedules for external auditors and local authorities Contributes and/or leads special projects as they arise Provides input into annual planning

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Education Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
Experience Minimum 5 years' experience.
SAP Experience Skills Self-directed individual with strong motivation and willing to take initiative.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of associates & management.
