**THE ROLE**
As a Frontend Website Developer, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our web presence. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in WordPress, React, common coding languages, Adobe Creative Suite, and Figma, combined with a creative flair to design and implement visually appealing and user-friendly websites. You will report directly to the Senior UX/UI Designer and work closely with the Creative Director, the Marketing Communications Manager, and other team members across marketing to ensure our website is optimized for performance and user experience.
This position is remote (work from home) in San Jose, Costa Rica. Hakkoda does have an incredible office space in San Jose and you will work with your manager to utilize the space for collaborative days as needed/desired.
**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**:
- Develop, customize, and maintain the Hakkoda Wordpress website, managing site speed, frontend page optimization for SEO, implementing tags and data gathering tools, and identifying areas of improvement
- Implement responsive web design principles to ensure our websites function seamlessly across various devices
- Collaborate with designers using Figma to translate visual concepts into interactive and functional web pages
- Integrate React components into WordPress sites for dynamic and interactive user experiences
- Optimize website performance, ensuring fast load times and smooth user experiences
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, including bugs and performance problems
- Stay updated with the latest web development trends and technologies to ensure our websites are cutting-edge
- Work closely with the project management team to deliver projects on time and within scope
- This role requires a motivated individual with a strong desire to take ownership of the company website, identifying ways to scale and improve as our fast-paced organization continues to grow.
**WHAT WE EXPECT ON DAY ONE**:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in web development, with a focus on WordPress CMS
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
- Experience with React and integrating React components into WordPress
- Strong understanding of responsive web design and branding principles
- Proficiency in using Figma for web design and collaboration
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and website optimization techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Fluent in English and Spanish
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Experience with the Snowflake Data Cloud ecosystem or similar data warehousing technologies
- Familiarity with the cloud infrastructure and IT services industry
