The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst 2 is a professional responsible for assisting in providing insights of Citi's financial results to senior management in coordination with the broader Finance team.
This person has a good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area and becoming an essential partner to the Finance function through end-to-end process ownership and flawless execution leveraging on innovation and standard practices, as well as development of working knowledge of Citi's business products and industry practices and standards.
Intellectual curiosity and good understanding in accounting, economics, banking and/or finance will be the baseline to continue learning and building a career in the financial industry in a challenging and dynamic environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Participate in forward-looking activities including annual budgeting and monthly outlook estimate process.
- Provide financial analytics support to specific managed segments within the Markets business in Brazil, including trend and variance analysis, research and interpretation of factual information, and detection and follow-up to resolution of inconsistencies in results.
- Interact as needed with the Traders and the Regional Head for the business, as well as with Brazil Markets Head and the Regional FP&A team, to gather business inputs as part of the assumptions and drivers to prepare accurate Revenue forecasts.
- Support the first-level analysis for Expenses and Geographic Revenue Attribution (GRA) process for all managed segments within the Markets & Securities Services business in Brazil.
- Have regular interaction with ICG Brazil Front Expenses team to leverage on the expense analysis performed for the Franchise, and with Regional Controllers for the GRA revenue analysis and investigations.
- Manage the implementation of procedures and report development.
- Support the digitalization initiatives in the team, leveraging on tools such as Knime, Tableau.
Excel macros and similar, in order to recommend and implement optimizations to processes and reports currently used in the team.
- Adhere to key controls for financial planning, forward looking and close monitoring processes within the scope handled, providing evidence and assurance through records management of risk & control compliance.
- Assess the applicability of previous or similar experiences and evaluate options under circumstances not covered by procedures.
- Work on ad-hoc requests based on business needs.
**Qualifications**:
- Understanding of Banking and Finance products and markets is preferable but not essential.
- Basic financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and models.
- Keen interest in business and economic environment.
- Bilingual English-Spanish is required.
- Portuguese proficiency is a plus.
- Intermediate MS Excel and Power Point skills is required.
Proficiency in other digital tools is a plus.
- Attention to detail oriented and proactive.
- Ability to collaborate as part of a team and to partner with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as individual contributor with limited supervision.
- Intermediate analytical skills and intellectual curiosity.
- Ability to challenge status quo and identify opportunities to reengineer/streamline processes.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to work in an ambiguous environment and embrace change.
**Education**:
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or related field with 3-6 years of experience.
