Role/Responsibilities
The Financial Data Analyst (FDA) has a significant input to the ratings and research process by analyzing financial statements and data provided by Issuers.
The FDA uses accounting and finance knowledge and judgment to perform financial statement analysis, adjust reported data per relevant methodology requirements and review and analyze ratios.
**What will a Financial Data Associate do?
**
- Review and understand financial statements, official statements and other documents related to issuers' performance.
- Work directly with ratings and support analysts to explain the data, adjustments and other information needed by the rating team for ratings and research.
- Document and provide guidance to support analysts and outsourcers
- Review, adjust and publish data to external market participants.
- Interact with Moody's ratings analysts regarding financial and operational data needed for analysis and publications.
In addition to regular daily responsibilities, the FDA will have the opportunity to work on new projects such as technology projects, accounting changes, analytic reviews, methodology updates and implementation of operational improvements.
The team is regularly provided with valuable training classes and interaction with Analysts as part of knowledge transfer and career growth.

**Qualifications**:
**Educational background**
- Bachelor's degree in business management, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance preferred
**Languages**
- High level of written and oral English to efficiently communicate and attend meetings
- Knowledge of Portuguese is a nice-to-have
**Skills & Experience**
- Knowledge of financial documents analysis and accounting is required
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel including pivot tables, lookups, among others
- Previous work experience is not required, but preferred.
- Prior experience in financial statements and accounting data analysis is a plus
- Previous work experiences in a financial environment are a plus
- Individual must be organized, diligent, able to multitask and balance priorities, display initiative, and can work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Effective organizational, communicational (verbal & written), and interpersonal skills are required
- Proven capacity to quickly transition as priorities change to meet demands
