Job Description**
Role Purpose**:
Supervises a skilled team responsible for revenue recognition activities for month-end close including contract review, revenue decision engine set-up, balance sheet reconciliations, and follow up on investigations in alignment to IFRS 15 to properly reflect the impact in the financial statements in line with Corporate Accounting policies and procedures.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Supervises the month-end and year-end close processes for Revenue Recognition.
Capable of functioning as content expert and lead the team in questions related to their processes.
- Responsible for all Balance Sheet Accounts' reconciliation for both Corporate for the countries under his/her supervision.
- Reports and follows through of all reconciling items, prioritizing based on relevance and risk while working with the business units to provide a timely solution.
- Manages monthly reviews with regional stakeholders to influence and promote better relationship between GFS and third parties.
- Ensures adequate financial controls are in place to meet the company's compliance and data security standards.
- Coordinates all requests from External and Internal auditors related to revenue items.
- Provides accounting support to other divisions/cost centers.
- Continuously advocates for process improvements (Empower), automation initiatives, enhanced controls and process standardization and considers benefit for teams within GFS for broader impact.
- Participates in month-end and year-end closing activities including preparing journal entries, gathering information and producing documentation to support transactions.
- Accomplishes HR objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; employees; communicates objectives and follows up; evaluates performance and recommends actions related to all his/her direct reports.
- Interacts and communicates effectively with counterparts on site and remotely.
- Completes special projects as needed.
- Develops a high performing team, with clear progression and succession plan including periodical review of process documentation, promoting a cross-training plan that allows work-life balance and business continuity.
- Viewed as a finance and revenue expert within the wider finance team.
- Delivers consistent / improving trends on KPIs.
- Proactively takes opportunities to improve knowledge and skills and is constantly working on ways to cascade this knowledge to his team members.
Qualifications**
Required Education/Skills**:
- Associates/Bachelors' degree in Accounting or equivalent in job experience.
- Preferred Big 4 background
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Knowledge of IFRS15 treatment of revenue recognition
- Familiar with accounting systems, preferably Oracle.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Personal Computer Skills - (Advanced MS Office).
- Oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented, numerical and analytical skills
- Good organizational & time management skills.
- Able to perform job functions with minimum supervision.
- Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement certifications are a plus.
- Power BI or Tableau experience is a plus.
**Required Experience**:
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in similar roles
- Finance background or qualification
- Experience managing teams and developing resources
- Experience in Shared Services working with both NA & LATAM
- Experience in managing transformation process in a Finance shared service environment
