**We are searching for the best talent **for an External Manufacturing Operations Manager to be located in Alajuela, Costa Rica.**
**Purpose**:
This role will serve as the liaison between BWI and the external manufacturing site for a medium complexity Medical Device External Operations manufacturing site. Responsible for leading all aspects of the relationship with the assigned external manufacturer, deliver reliable product supply and total cost efficiency while meeting or exceeding all customer service, compliance and product requirements.
**Key responsabilities**:
- Achievement of Plan attainment expectations.
- Will identify and deliver Cost Improvement Projects (CIP's), using Process Excellence tools resulting in improved total cost, and facilitate the implementation of LEAN models for strategic Contract site.
- Coordinate efficient implementation of product/process changes
- Efficient coordination between external manufacturer and franchise Product Life Cycle Management (LCM) for successful launch of new or existing products
- Lead resources to resolve issues and develop manufacturing strategies to improve site performance
- Develops and implements plans to reduce lead-time for Finished Goods and resolve quality issues
- Develop business continuity plans as a means to insure continued supply and develop supply market knowledge within key processing technologies
- Find opportunities for leveraging across the supply base within Medtech organization
- Lead business reviews and governance strategy
- Ensure external manufacturers are aligned with J&J and external standards

**Education**:
- At least 8 years related experience.
**Experience and Skills**:
**Required**:
- Experience working in Manufacturing Operations, specifically in a GMP environment
- Strong analytical/technical proficiency & competence, project management skills and prior experience leading cross-functional projects
- Proficient in English and Spanish is required
**Preferred**:
- Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, training and/or certification is helpful. Experience with the commercialization of new products is highly preferred
- Strong Program Management Skills
- MS Office Suite proficiency is preferred. Prior knowledge of Advanced Planning systems such as ERP, MRP, and SAP is a plus.
