**Introduction**
**Your Role and Responsibilities**
- Maintain an understanding of the IBM Cloud environment and risk profile
- Engage in key first line of defense management routines and events to actively oversee, advise, and challenge 1st line current and emerging risk generating activity
- Conducts risk assessments on first line risk generating activity exposing gaps and opportunities for improvements that will enhance risk management capabilities and operational excellence
- Oversees, advises on, challenges, and monitors 1LoD remediation plans, risk acceptance, and Key Risk Indicators
- Creates points of views to articulate Enterprise Risk Managements independent view of 1st line risk management practices as needed for assigned area and contributes to on-going risk reporting
**Required Technical and Professional Expertise**
- 7+ years experience in Operational Risk performing risk assessments, analyzing and monitoring risk intelligence, and managing risk
- 3+ years experience in the 2nd line of defense or 3rd line of defense (audit) either overseeing 1st line risk generating activity or developing risk programs and frameworks
- Advanced problem solving, analytical, influencing and communication skills
- Independent and self-organizing team player with strong interpersonal skills who is able to operate in a diversified and multicultural work environment
- Experienced in conceptualizing and/or implementing process improvements
**Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise**
- Working knowledge of Cloud technology/business
- Experience participating in scenario analysis and/or risk and control self assessments (RCSA)
- Experience monitoring various sources (internal and external) of risk intelligence to understand potential emerging risks
- Experience developing automated and/or advanced risk reporting
- Sound understanding of regulations such as OCC Heightened Standards, BASEL III, GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI, etc.
- Experience working in Financial services
