**What are we looking for**:
The Employee Relations Specialist serves as process lead for labour and employee relations administration, for Inchcape operations in Costa Rica and Panama.
Working closely with the People Business Partners and Legal advisors, this person supports business leaders in the resolution of complex issues and concerns, ensuring alignment with both local labour legislation and company policies, values and behaviours.
**Main Functions**:
- Support the resolution of escalated or complex employee relations issues and concerns, by providing guidance to people leaders on grievance, disciplinary and performance issues.
Provide support with disciplinary actions and their adequate documentation.
- Conduct and manage investigations pertaining complaints and concerns that could result in legal ramifications, including, but not restricted to, those raised through the company's compliance and ethics hotline.
Involve appropriate individuals; draft and prepare master files for legal analysis and facilitate appropriate action based on policy and practice.
- Support People Business Partners with the review of employment contracts to ensure proper adherence to local legislation and company policies, involving the Legal partners whenever needed.
- Draft and review severance agreements and accompanying documents, in liaison with the Legal partners, People Business Partners and relevant stakeholders.
Serve as point of contact for any follow-up questions from terminated employees.
- As part of the People function, contribute to the analysis of people and employment data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform policies, practices, and decisions which help support the organizational and business goals.
- Support the development and implementation of employee relations policies, procedures and guidelines, working with the People and Compliance functions, including discipline, grievances and complaints.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree required, with Licenciatura or Master's degree preferred, in fields related to Human Resources, Law or Business Administration.
- 2 - 4 years of direct experience in roles of Employee Relations and/or HR Generalist.
- Fluent in Spanish with advanced proficiency in English.
- Extensive knowledge of local labour regulations and requirements for Costa Rica and Panama.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and problem-solve in complex situations with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven abilities in conflict resolution and transformation, and experience in diffusing employee related issues and concerns.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, influence and communication skills.
