Your contribution to this role will impact the success of VxWorks in the embedded space. The focus of this role is to work with an elite team of OS kernel developers and cloud-native developers to enhance and sustain VxWorks Real Time Operating Systems in WR leading edge Studio cloud-native platform.**Interface & Collaboration**Reports directly to Manager of Engineering, VxWorks/Platforms. You will be an integral part of the highly skilled "VxWorks RTOS and WR Studio" engineering team developing and sustaining technologies and features for Wind River's flagship Real Time Operating System VxWorks. You will collaborate with product management, architects, and remote teams to scope, estimate, design, develop, and deliver capabilities that will enhance and improve VxWorks RTOS and our WR Studio products.**Responsibilities**- Work with product management and highly skilled engineers to plan, estimate, design, develop and test Core OS functionalities for VxWorks and in WR Studio platform.- Work in an Agile and scrum environment to ensure timely deliveries and high-quality features.- Investigate and resolve issues reported during product verification and customer integration.- Participate in all aspects of the software development process using Agile development.- Collaborates with remote teams on project and feature development.**ABOUT YOU****Core Competencies & Demonstrated Success - you should have the following experiences**:- Have a good understanding of embedded software development.- Have worked in teams that do developing going through the full software development lifecycle from requirements through to testing.- Comfortable working in an Agile scrum development environment.- Comfortable working with git, GitLab, or other repository management tools.- Have a good understanding of RTOSes and/or have worked within the kernel of an operating system.- Have extensive coding in C, Python, or other languages in the last couple of years.- Knowledge or past experience with cloud development, e.g. Kubernetes.- Knowledge or past experience with container development.- Comfortable working in teams and projects that consist of multiple teams.- Comfortable working with remote teams, product team, support team, and field team.- Self-motivated and driven.- Willing to work with teams in different time zones.**Qualifications**- BSc / MSc degree (Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree).- 5-7 years of relevant technical experience in software development.- Good experience with Real Time Operating System kernel development- Excellent programming skills using C/C++, Python, and other scripting languages.- Strong analytical and debugging skills.- Excellent written and oral communication skills.- Prior experience in a cloud native development environment.**#LI-SV1
