**Job Purpose**:
**The DHL Group Corporate Audit department currently has an opening for a highly motivated professional interested in a Senior Internal Auditor role at the Shared Service Center for the Americas.** This role reports to the Regional Internal Audit Manager, Global Freight Forwarding (DGFF) Americas division in Plantation, Florida and will be based out of the Shared Service Center in San Jose, Costa Rica. This position will be part of the audit team responsible for audits in multiple areas of the DHL DGFF Americas division.
**Your tasks**:
- Participate as lead member in complex audit assignments and ensure the audit team has understood assigned areas to ensure effective audit execution
- Gain understanding of DHL Global Freight Forwarding financial and operational processes.
- Perform risk-based audits including testing and root cause analysis to evaluate the effectiveness and compliance of controls against policy, procedure, laws and regulations.
- Identify deviations, improvement in internal controls, opportunities for efficiencies, cost reduction and/or quality improvement as well as the associated business risk.
- Coach and review staff/junior auditors work not only during specific process, but also on a need basis.
- Discuss and present draft findings to relevant local management during audits.
- Draft high quality audit findings tailored to specific needs of the engagement in a timely manner along with documenting working papers.
- Assist in developing effective audit programs and recommend revisions to existing audit programs
- Perform requested follow-up procedures as necessary.
**Your profile**:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or master's degree a plus.
- Minimum four years of audit experience in a multi-national, leading public accounting firm (Big 8) or within the Internal Audit function of a multinational company.
- Knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS or similar frameworks) is preferred.
- Knowledge of Controlling, and/or Corporate Finance matters) is a plus.
- Collaborative team player, high degree of integrity, high initiative and professional judgement.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Good communication & negotiation skills with strong reasoning; comfortable in multicultural settings.
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills, and ability to speak Portuguese is a plus.
- Skillful in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Word) and ability to learn proprietary software.
- High flexibility and willingness to travel approximately 40% within the Americas.
