**How will you make an impact?**
- Learn and use groundbreaking technologies for database administration.
- Construct new reports, dashboards to capture metrics for Operational and Business users.
- Work directly with Amazon Web Service architects to help reproduce and resolve customer issues.
- Automate processes and procedures for new database environments and extend new processes to existing environments.
- Design, develop, and implement AI based processes that would allow data to be ingested and transform process-based enhancements.
**What will you do?**
- Design, develop and implementation scalable services for multiple RDBMS types and processes.
- Serve as a technical resource on development and infrastructure initiatives.
- Work seamlessly with other Database and IT professionals to design, deploy, and support critical Thermo Fisher Scientific business initiatives.
- Strive to ensure that databases run efficiently and issue free.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the design, installation, and deployment of complex database landscapes.
- Remain current on industry trends on the following technologies: RDMS, Data Warehouse, Application Integration Platforms, Process Automation Platforms, and Data Transformation Tooling
- Collaborate with DBA Management to drive the development of enterprise data technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure optimal data value to the enterprise.
- Leverage backup, replication, and encryption technologies to ensure corporate RDMS systems are always protected from loss or theft.
- Support the continued adoption of agile project management methodology.
- Provide support to database and data-related issues.

**Education**
- BS Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related field of study, or equivalent experience
**Experience**
- 3-5+ years of professional experience in a dynamic environment with a primary focus on database services
- Experience with Oracle 11g/12g/19c Grid Control and Oracle Enterprise Manager
- Experience with SQL Server 2012, 2016, 2019
- Exposure to Cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/OCI), MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift, Unix, Linux, Windows
- Experience with T-SQL, PL/SQL, Java, REST, JSON, XML, Java Script, Python, Ansible, Bash, Shell
- Experience with Jenkins, Git and other development tools including Oracle APEX
- Experience with backup and recovery at both OS and database levels.
- Operational and technical documentation
- Exposure to the management of database security
- Ability to install and configure database clients on Linux, Windows, and DBaaS (RDS, Azure SQL Database, etc.)
- Experience with Operational related tasks such as ticket closing, backup, restores, creation of new users and administrative tasks.
- Familiarity assessing and resolving OS contention issues within database platforms.
- Exposure to process automation and orchestration technologies such as Ansible, etc.
- Understanding of ETL data processing technologies
- Understanding of High Availability enterprise technologies for all RDBMS systems
