**Data Base Administrator (Remote)**

SGF Global is looking for a Data Base Administrator, for IT enterprise in Heredia, Costa Rica.
**Overview**:
The Database Administrator work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Maintains systems documentation on current environment configurations.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- 3 or more years of technical experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of MS SQL Server, SQL, Database backup and recovery techniques, Performance tuning, System monitoring, Linked Servers, index strategies, Windows administration, transact SQL, SQL Server agent jobs, PowerShell.
- Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal)
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
- Experience in installing, patching, and repairing SQL server instances.
- Experience in reviewing DDL changes for standards and performance, deploying DDL changes.
- Able to work in multiple domains and servers, while using the appropriate account for the task.
- Prior experience working with SQL Server Database Replication (preferred)
- Prior experience in SQL Server performance tuning (preferred)
- Prior experience with Data Modeling (preferred)
- English C1

**Duties and Tasks**:
- The Database Administrator performs backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configures database parameters, and prototype designs against logical data models, defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements.
- This position optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost.
- Supports multiple instances and multiple databases of medium to high complexity (complexity defined by database size, technology used, systems feeds and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility of data.
- Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
- Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires mínimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
Follows established guidelines/procedures.
- The Database Administrator performs duties with mínimal oversite.
Must have the ability to monitor and proactively correct issues or communicate issues to responsible staff.
Create and react to system monitoring processes to minimize downtime.
- While most work is done during the normal work week, occasional evening and weekend work is required for patching and support.
