Position Title: Cost Controller

Reports to: Controller

Classification: Exempt

Status: Regular Full-Time

Location: San Jose, Costa Rica (on-site)

**This job is located at Terramix, S.A, a Hultec Company in San Jose, Costa Rica. All resumes must be in English for consideration**

**Responsibilities**:

- **Cost Accounting Accuracy** - maintain and update manufacturing cost accounting records with a strong focus on precision.
- ** Monthly Reporting and KPIs** - prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other financial reports. Utilizes exceptional presentation skills to communicate complex financial data effectively.
- ** Monthly Forecast Oversight & Annual Budget and Cost Roll Process** - oversee the monthly forecast process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with financial goals and strategic plans. Lead the annual budgeting process and cost roll activities. Collaborate closely with the procurement department and the operations team to develop budgeting strategies that support the organization's objectives.
- ** Margin Analysis** - provide crucial support for margin analysis, identifying factors impacting profitability. Offer recommendations to enhance margins and reduce costs.
- ** Productivity Analysis and Daily Reporting** - perform productivity analysis and prepare daily reports for executives showing daily production, actual hours, earned hours, and department efficiency. Collaborate closely with the operations team to optimize productivity.
- ** High-Level Conversations with Executives** - Engage in strategic and high-level conversations with executives to provide financial insights and recommendations.
- ** Advanced Excel and Proficiency in PowerPoint** - Utilize advanced Excel skills for data analysis, modeling, and reporting. Create compelling presentations in PowerPoint for conveying financial information to corporate audiences.
- ** Procurement Collaboration** - Collaborate closely with the procurement team to understand raw material trends and changes. Assess and communicate the financial implications of raw material cost changes.
- ** Internal Operational Controls** - Ensure compliance with internal controls to safeguard financial data and assets. Implement and maintain procedures aligned with industry best practices.
- ** Administrative Duties** - Perform other administrative duties. Typical of a high-level finance/accounting position, including document management, project management, and cross-functional coordination.

**Job Requirements and skills**
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 8-10+ years of relevant experience in financial management, cost accounting, or related fields in a manufacturing environment.
- A minimum of 3+ years of proven experience in manufacturing cost accounting, cost roll, and standard cost methodologies.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 experience is not required) or a related role with a focus on audit or financial analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for financial analysis and reporting.
- Excellent English communication skills to interact effectively with corporate and global teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of financial systems and ERP software (SAP preferred).
- Familiarity with internal controls, compliance, and financial best practices.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to provide insights for cost optimization.
- Detail-oriented with the capability to investigate and address root causes.
- Strong project management abilities and the capacity to meet deadlines.
- Prior experience in a similar role in a multinational organization is a plus.
