o Provide time critical solutions to our customers, navigate across functions, business operations, and external suppliers to influence positive outcomes.
o Responsible for component engineering solutions for new and legacy products.
o Work individually and in a team to identify proper components for the specifications determined.
o Collaborate cross-functionally with to resolve component related issues.
This may include electrical engineering, manufacturing, global supply chain, quality, and vendors.
o Specifies, evaluates, and selects electronic and electro-mechanical components.
o Triage initial component issues, resolving some problems directly or escalating other issues to engineering team.
Must be able to problem solve on component tasks and demonstrate a strong commitment to production needs.
o Evaluate new and alternative compliant components for engineering and production.
o Develops and maintains processes related to component tracking, selection, and usage.
o Complete review and documentation for new products and components to ensure all parts meet chemical compliance requirements.
o Creates supporting documentation such as component comparison documents and engineering change orders.
o Executes change control documentation in accordance with procedures for evaluation and implementation of components.
o Review and understand design and compliance requirements to make proper component selection.
o Incorporates chemical compliance, availability and EOL data when selecting components.
o Establishes and maintains key vendor distributor contacts to locate and procure select components as well as acquiring proper specification documentation.
o Manages critical components shortages and leverages knowledge to find creative component solutions- using component variants/alternatives.
Requirements Education / Educación: o Bachelor's Degree (Related Technical Field) Experience / Experiencia: o At least 0-2 years of professional experience with a bachelor's degree, in positions with a similar level of responsibility, decision-making and problem solving.
o Recognized expertise within a similar organization.
Specialized Knowledge (Desirable) / Conocimiento especializado (preferible): o Understanding of electrical design and manufacturing processes o Ability to manage multiple active projects.
o Understanding of engineering documentation (e.g., schematics, data sheets) and standard document control practices.
o Familiarity with laboratory test equipment used in electrical engineering work such as multimeters, oscilloscopes.
o Knowledge and experience working through full product lifecycle.
o Excellent understanding of component parameters of common electrical and electro-mechanical devices such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, ferrite beads, sensors, various ICs o Advanced ability to create and manage documentation according to design control procedures.
Thorough understanding of revision control for design and documentation.
o Experience in the medical device field or other regulated industry preferred.
o Understanding of medical device standards & chemical compliance standards (e.g.RoHS/REACH) preferred.
