- Medical Data Specialists play a key role in clinical research by controlling the information collected during a clinical trial. This team ensures the quality and integrity of clinical data using various methods and tools including the development and implementation of data management plans, database specifications, data capture systems and ad-hoc reports which are used to review clinical data for completeness, accuracy, and consistency. Medical Data Specialists achieve this through collaboration with clinical colleagues (e.g., Project Management, Trial Operations, Site Operations, Clinical IS, Global Safety, Biostatistics, Quality and Medical Sciences) and other cross functional team members (e.g., Legal and Regulatory).**Your responsibilities include**:
- Review clinical data for completeness, accuracy and consistency in accordance with the investigational plan.
- Develop and maintain data management documentation and guidelines in accordance with Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Perform regular data cleaning tasks (such as listings review, queries management ) per Data Management processes and plan.
- Provides regular updates and escalate issues to the study Functional Leads.
- Provide direct support to the project team on data management activities.
- Facilitate timely data entry by mobilizing and providing assistance to research sites having data entry difficulties.
- Maintain compliance with corporate, core and study-specific learning requirements.
- Excellent organization skills with a strong analytical mind
- Need a strong team player, solution-oriented and with a positive attitude.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbally and in writing)
- Life Science knowledge (medical, biomedical, biotechnology...) is required.
- Basic knowledge of relational databases and programming languages (e.g. SAS or Python) is a plus
- Some experience with clinical trial research and/or data collection is an asset.
- In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
- For those individuals that supervise others, the following statements are applicable:
- Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy.
- Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.
**What We're Looking For**:
- Bachelor's degree in biotechnology, Biology, Biomedical Science, Veterinary, Medical Science or related field.
- Knowledge of databases and programming languages (e.g. SAS or Python) is a plus.
- Good organization skills with a strong analytical mind, solution-oriented and with a positive attitude.
- English Level: B2+: 80-89%.
- Desired knowledge: functional knowledge, business expertise, leadership, problem solving, impact, interactions.
