Job Summary:
The Cash Applications Clerk reports directly to the Accounts receivable Supervisor.
The Cash Application function consists of clerical and administrative services to ensure the accurate, timely and efficient posting and reconciliation of cash and non-cash payments to customer accounts.
Responsibilities**:Cash Applications**
- Prepare Cash Reports from daily cash posting activity data.
- Research, reconcile and post customer payments to customer accounts.
- Investigate and resolve customer queries as needed.
- Perform daily data entry of all payments.
- Prepare refund checks for return orders.
- Record bank deposits.
- Compile and prepare payment and order backup as needed.
- Communicate with clients regarding outstanding payments.
- Provide financial, administrative and clerical services as needed.
**Cash Application of Bank Lockbox Transactions**
- Review and research deposits located in share drive to provide additional details on payments to enable the bank to match deposits to customer orders and post in PeopleSoft.
Research customer orders to provide correct account number and invoice number to the transaction.
- Research and reconcile to customer account, order number and invoice number.- Contact customer Supervisor and notify of any transactions that cannot be reconciled by standard Cash Application Process.
**Cash Application of Credit Card and Wire Transactions**
- Access bank system(s) and/or review bank files to identify Credit Card and wire transactions that have been posted as deposits.
- Credit notes processing.
- Research transactions to reconcile and post Credit Card and wire transactions in postings:
- Research and reconcile remittance advice to customer account, order number and invoice number.- Contact Supervisor in DE and notify of any transactions that cannot be reconciled by standard Cash Application Process.
- **Cash Application of Non-Cash or Other Types of Transactions**
- Review reports for all non-cash transactions, including bank Deposits.
- Research transactions to reconcile and postings:
- Research and reconcile remittance advice to customer account, order number and invoice number.
Participate in the preparation of meetings, KPIs and SLAs.
- Schedule meeting with the client in order to review root cause and resolution on issues.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience in accounts receivable, cash posting, data entry or similar operational areas.
- Experience in US-based Consumer Products, Wholesale or Retail Distribution businesses a plus).
- Advanced Studies in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
- Written and verbal communication skills in English (English Level B2 Plus).
- Good knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Access etc.)
and familiarity with ERP Systems (Oracle, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, SAP, etc.)
- Ability to collect, assimilate, retain, and analyze information on the business, including data collection and analysis.
