**How will you make an impact?
**
The primary responsibility of the Buyer I is managing the day to day materials planning and placement of purchase orders for the assigned commodities.
The person will manage supplier relationships, maintain inventory levels, purchase agreements and work with other departments to control costs, solve problems, and ensure the timely supply of products to customers.
**What will you do?
**
- Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to plan and execute purchase orders.
- Manage supplier relationships, evaluate supplier performance and communicate with suppliers periodically.
- Manage materials supply and inventory levels for product line(s), planning and purchasing for material requirements.
- Work with key stakeholders to manage inventory levels.
- Maintain Procurement Master Data in respective ERP system.
- Resolve AP issues.
- Report metrics (purchase price variance, on-time delivery, backorder, supplier scorecards, etc.)
for assigned suppliers.
- Participate in cross functional team meetings, execute and/or share all actions with team as required.
- Participate on process improvement and lean initiative project teams.
- Participate in cost savings and quality improvement projects.
- Ensures supplier contract adherence where applicable.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Manage Vendor Change and submit to CCB Change Board.
- Specification management in Master Control, work with suppliers on changes.
- Engineering changes, work with suppliers on the changes
**How will you get here?
**
- Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in business administration, manufacturing operations, operations management, or supply chain management.
- 1+ years of business experience required, preferably in procurement.
- Enrollment in APICS, CSPM certification program preferred.
- Experience with ERP Systems (Oracle preferred) and skills in MS office i.e.
Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook preferred
- Experience in a scientific environment or medical device field preferred.
