The Buyer manages the purchasing and sourcing processes to ensure the best pricing and availability of material and services to support the company's needs and demandsRole Responsibilities:Responsible for purchasing materials and supplies from vendors and executing buying strategies based on established buying plans to obtain the most quality at the lowest cost.Monitors day to day supplier performance, addresses customer issues, and acts as a liaison between suppliers, Commodity Managers and internal customers in problem resolution.Creating purchase orders and executing bid requests.Approving requisitions and monitoring invoices for variances and suppliers for performance.Maintaining and ensuring that lead times, costs, order multiples/minimums are accurate.Proactively communicating with internal departments on sourcing issues or delays.Strengthening and building supplier relationships through routine supplier meetings.Resolving supplier issues or concerns within a timely manner.Ensuring proper documentation is provided by suppliers and that all purchasing activities adhere to established policies and procedures as required.Revising process documents (SOP's and desk guides) and provide training for internal stakeholders.Participating in continuous improvement activities in support of Company business goals.Assisting with ad hoc projects as required.Role Requirements: Bachelor's degree with 1+ years of purchasing experience.Fluency in both English and Spanish is required for this position (spoken and written).
Brazilian Portuguese would also be preferred, but not required.Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking abilities.Intermediate level financial understanding and excellent problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently as well as in team settings.Excellent analytical skills, including spend analysis.Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Suites.Team player, strong interpersonal skills including conscientiousness, diplomacy, flexibility, and dependability.
