Position SummaryThe Buyer is responsible for tactical purchasing activities for assigned portfolio to ensure a high level of customer service. The Buyer balances supplier capacity and internal inventory levels with demand to support targets consistent with build plans, launch plans, customer service levels and inventory turns. The Buyer leads all efforts with suppliers to address product availability issues and ensures that long term supply constraint issues are resolved or escalated when appropriate. Also has a high level of focus on driving continuous improvement both externally with the supplier and internally within the purchasing function and with key stakeholders.**Who we Want**:- ** Analytical problem solvers. **People who go beyond just fixing to identify root causes, evaluate optimal solutions, and recommend comprehensive upgrades to prevent future issues.- ** Goal-oriented**:Keeping the customer and requirements squarely in focus, people who deliver safe and robust solutions.- ** Collaborative partners.** People who build and leverage cross-functional relationships to bring together ideas, information, use cases, and industry analyses to develop best practices.- ** Dedicated achievers.** People who thrive in a fast-paced environment and will stop at nothing to ensure a project is complete and meets regulations and expectations.- ** Detail-oriented process improvers.** Critical thinkers who naturally see opportunities to develop and optimize work processes - finding ways to simplify, standardize and automate.**What you will do**:Key Areas of Responsibility- Support tactical purchasing responsibilities for assigned portfolio to maintain a high level of customer service- Work directly with suppliers to gain an understanding of their internal planning system and how their processes affect/interact with Stryker's material and capacity requirements.- Engage in capability building with suppliers as part of cross functional teams- Generate and communicate receipts, inventory, PPV projections and any relevant KPIs to key stakeholders- Identify gaps in existing business processes and support improvement activities to close them- Work cross-functionally with the following teams to support Stryker initiatives: Sourcing, AO, Engineering/Quality, Customer Service, and Operations- Work with buying partner to maintain item master data, i.e. lead times, minimum order qty/order multiple, safety stock levels, delivery dates etc. to ensure system data accuracy- Expedite or de-expedite product as required ensuring material availability, whilst meeting agreed inventory targets. Escalate supply constraints as needed and with appropriate lead time- Support Production Planners to allow generation of a valid supply/production plan.- Participate and provide input to supplier score card reviews to achieve agreed upon OTIF (on time and in full delivery), cost saving and responsiveness targets**What you need**:Professional Requirements Required:- 3rd level qualification in Business, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management/Logistics, IPICS or another equivalent is required.- English as second languageKnowledge/Background Experience Required:- Minimum three years of Supply Chain experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is essential.- Knowledge of MRP systems.- SAP experience- Excellent knowledge & computer skills of MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word.- Conversant with company policies/procedures/regulatory and FDA standards.**About Stryker**:Stryker is one of the world's leading medical technology companies and, together with our customers, is driven to make healthcare better.The company offers innovative products and services in Medical and Surgical, Neurotechnology, Orthopedics, and Spine that help improve patient and healthcare outcomes.
