Riverpoint Medical in Costa Rica is looking to hire a **Buyer Costa Rica.** At Riverpoint you will be part of the process that brings great technology to Medical, Dental and Veterinary markets. We specialize in the design and manufacturing of premium medical devices. Our ingenuity can be found in our suture technologies, sports medicine fibers and anchors, surgical lighting, and special needle technologies. The **Buyer** for Riverpoint Medical creates and maintains component purchase orders and releases from suppliers to meet defined internal requirements working closely with vendors. A key component of this position is to anticipate and maintain inventory levels to ensure business runs smoothly. Performing routine stock inspections, anticipation of market changes and ensuring inventory levels are financially feasible. They also work closely with internal customers to analyze shipping, receiving and sales data.
**Duties and Responsibilities for the position include**:
- Monitor MRP planning system to ensure components are received on time/schedule.
- Follow up with vendors on late orders - adjust date in system or close orders if needed.
- Calculate and maintain reorder points in the system.
- Lead and/or participate in projects regarding inventory control / material flow / continuous improvement.
- Communicate receiving priorities to receiving departments.
- Weekly purchasing of all material below reorder point and on material exception list.
- Communicate with vendors and internally to ensure that no stock out happens.
- Communicate late orders to vendors within 7 days and adjust and correct data in MRP system.
- Keep all list regarding receiving priorities and feedback to production up to date.
- Responsible for vendor and raw material maintenance in and outside the ERP system.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, annual forecasts for vendors.
- Work directly with manufacturing to review customer backorders in relation to raw materials shortages.
- Additional responsibilities for all high moving and critical items and project purchasing:
- Direct procurement (raw materials & goods for production)
- Indirect purchasing (services, supplies, spare parts, business general items & operating supplies)
- Managing supplier relationships (negotiations, SLA, agreements, contracts, CPFR (collaborative demand)
- Managing inventory (planning, selecting, ordering, expediting, follow up, controlling, evaluation)
- Local sourcing development
- RMA management
- QMS (ASL qualification, approval)
**Education and Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Operations or Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of company products and logistics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Experience in purchasing and/or supply chain in an FDA regulated environment is desirable, with an understanding of ERP system.
