Your Role
As a Gensler Billing and Accounting Analyst, you will be responsible for financial account management and analysis for the firm's projects and business practices. You will succeed because you are highly organized and passionate about ensuring the financial health of assigned projects throughout the project life cycle, from project due diligence to client invoicing and collections. Join a team of highly creative, collaborative colleagues and partner with Gensler project managers to ensure our projects are beautiful and financially sound.
What You Will Do
- Work closely with Design Managers, clients, and consultants to discuss billing and financial issues
- Interpret financial data in contracts and billings and accurately convey them
- Follow up and assist with collection efforts
- Maintain and monitor project-specific budgets / spreadsheets/reports
- Determine and set up the best billing terms and invoice formats
- Prepare and process invoices in line with project contractual arrangements
- Adhere to the monthly invoicing deadlines
- Retrieve and match back-up to invoices where necessary
- Meet regularly with Design Managers and Studio Directors to review schedule, billing, held time, and collection issues
- Prepare journal entries and research General ledger issues
- Develop an understanding of our accounting software so that you are seen as an expert and a resource to staff
- Cross-train and work closely with other team members so that we function as a cohesive and high-performing team. Assist the team with any ad-hoc projects or analyses.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required
- 5 years of experience working as accountant
- Bilingual in English Spanish
- Excellent Excel skills and proficiency with MS Office products
- Highly organized, detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Experience in dealing with multiple currencies, exchange rates, and taxes
- Experience with Consortium accounting is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage different personality types
- Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work within a team environment and work independently
- Analytical, Proactive, Problem solver
- Able to work well under pressure with multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels
