Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of technical equipment, custom engineered products, systems, software or components. Acquires and maintains understanding of technology trends, market forces, cost trends and supplier technology road maps. Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy and discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers and negotiates refunds.

This is a highly specialized individual contributor role that requires deep expertise from a professional / technical thought leader in their respective field or discipline. This position typically requires extensive experience in a specialized field and an advanced college degree or equivalent. As a key expert, the job requires in-depth knowledge and understanding within one discipline. They are regarded within the organization as a technical 'expert' in their particular field. The job requires good analytical skills as well as evaluative judgement based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations. The complexity implied at this level of problem solving relates to the ability to filter, prioritize, analyze and validate potentially complex and dynamic material. This job typically requires a degree or equivalent and a minimum of 8 or more years experience.

**What you will do-**
- Support development and implementation of strategies and goals for assigned commodities in support of overall divisional business objectives
- Support development and implementation of processes to build a best in class strategic sourcing organization
- Develop and lead cross functional teams and lead the process to create strategic commodity plans, consolidation strategy, and spend/supply assessments taking into account total product life cycle needs
- Participate in sourcing analysis and selection process and performs cost analyses and make versus buy analyses as required
- Participate in development of contract strategy. Negotiates, establishes, monitors and enforces supplier contracts and agreements
- Develop strong partnership relationships with key suppliers as well as other disciplines within the businesses
- Identify supply base risk and develop/implement mitigation plans
- Obtain and communicate market condition information and technology trends related to commodities and suppliers
- Utilize market trends to identify and implement appropriate cost controls and business strategy changes
- Perform cost analyses and make versus buy analyses as required
- Assure cost standards are established for annual operating budget
- Collaborate across functions, divisions, and campuses to develop scorecards and business reviews for key suppliers
- Organize and lead scorecard review meetings and business reviews

**What you need-**
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Management, Business, Finance, Engineering or related field required
- Master's degree preferred
- Professional certifications through APICS, ISM, and/or CSCMP preferred
- 7+ years in Supply Management with focus on strategic sourcing and supplier development.
- Knowledge of supplier processes and supply chain risk factors including experience in assessing and mitigating risk in the supply base.
- Ability to negotiate effectively to obtain best prices and terms on products, materials, and services.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information to suppliers, team members, team leaders, and top management.
- Ability to build relationships and influence across multiple functions and levels both internally and externally.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies & cost reduction methodologies.
- Experience with supplier metrics & measurement methodologies and supporting systems
- Strong skills in leadership, negotiations, influencing, communication & presentation, project management, troubleshooting & problem solving, analysis, strategic thinking, and collaborative team building.
- Strong judgment with the ability to make and communicate timely and sound decisions
- International sourcing and supplier management experience preferred.
- Device industry sourcing and supplier management experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of ISO13485 standards and requirements preferred.
- Supplier Audit experience in quality system standards: FDA QSR, ISO3485 and ISO9001 preferred
