Associate Analyst - Tax Engine
Job summary
We are looking for smart, passionate individuals to join our Global Product Classification Services (PCS) team in Tax Engine Department.
This person will assist with the classification of billions of products, in multiple languages, for tax purposes.
As a PCS Specialist on the Tax Engine team, the individual will have the opportunity to improve the customer experience by contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of the tax classification function.
The goal of the team is to ensure thousands of Amazon customers are paying the correct tax rate for the purchased product.
**Responsibilities**:
- Perform product tax classifications and participate in ongoing audit activities
- Perform basic product taxability research across a wide range of categories
- Expand and refine data retrieval techniques
- Utilize extensive product catalog attributes and other data to ensure products are classified properly for indirect tax purposes
- Participate in team operational excellence programs and process improvements
- Maintain metrics and reporting for measuring process improvement

About the team
Product Classification Services (PCS) Team was launched in Bratislava, Slovakia in May 2018 with the main goal of ensuring correct taxation is being applied on products sold on Amazon.
Over the years, the team has grown significantly in terms of head count as well as scope, and nowadays consists of three parts: 1) Operations (located in Bratislava), 2) Taxonomy and 3) Project team (both located in Barcelona, Spain).
Operations is the core function of PCS, responsible for manual and automated product classification for tax purposes.
Taxonomy team is built out of tax lawyers who perform global tax research, to help us reflect on legislative changes.
The Project team supports both sides with process improvements, reporting and analytical tasks.
