**Area Manager**

The Area Manager's primary goal is to lead and drive a team to develop and grow relationships with our regional chain partners to maximize profitability and growth in line with brands goals and values.
The Manager coaches and trains their team to engage in high-quality, data-driven consultations with partners that persuade partners to take mutually beneficial actions to improve conversion and grow bookings.
Managers prioritize activities that maximize business value and empower the team to achieve and exceed important metric targets.
Managers are also involved in recruiting and developing high-potential talent and serve as a liaison between their team and key EG stakeholders and product managers.
The regional chains area manager is also responsible for negotiating and implementing corporate level agreements with partners when needed.
**What you'll do**:

- Account Management:

- Exceed major market management KPIs for key regional accounts
- Identify key strategic growth levers and opportunities to help partners grow their business, increase revenue and shift share across destination portfolio
- Lead business reviews with strategic account executives and market management organization
- Initiate and orchestrate market management growth initiatives, driving partner growth across market/destination portfolio, collaborating closely with global, regional and local stakeholders.
- Relationship Growth:

- Day-to-day internal and external relationship management, including senior-most executive and operational levels
- Establish close collaboration with key partners' teams including regular HQ and market visits
- Develop strong partnership with internal stakeholders to drive growth initiatives execution, strategic partner plan implementation and new business opportunities.
- Contracting and Negotiation:

- Negotiate, understand and implement creative and complex deals and financial models
- Initiate and coordinate contract renewals in close partnership with key stakeholders in market management and LSP (Lodging Strategic Partners)

**Who you are**:

- Sales & Negotiation:

- Proven negotiation skills with 5+ years' demonstrated track record account managing and/or negotiating at a senior level
- Effectively identifies opportunities of growth, and negotiates successfully in a constructive, consultative, and collaborative manner
- English and Spanish language required, preferably combined with Portuguese
- Drive for Results:

- Laser-focus on achieving a variety of KPIs (targets, goals and/or strategic objectives) set by the leadership team
- High impact personality: intellectual agility, entrepreneurship, empathy, team player
- Hungry, ambitious, motivated, action-oriented, results-focused and metrics-driven
- Highly developed organization and time management skills, rigor, attention to details
- Tenaciously works to meet or exceed challenging goals; derives satisfaction from goal achievement and continuous improvement
- Strategic Problem Solving:

- Outstanding analytical and strategic thinking skills and stakeholder influence capabilities
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and an intense curiosity to identify emerging business trends, leverage data and drive strategic growth opportunities
- Appetite for innovative technology, fast-changing business environment, data-driven decision making
- Provide ongoing input to Senior management and contribute to cross functional Expedia business initiatives to proactively anticipate market impact and shape up optimized roll out plans
- Relationship Management:

- Excellent customer service and sincere relationship-building ethic, strong social intelligence; earns the confidence of others; bridges and sustains solid partnerships based on mutual support through a collaborative style
- Outstanding presentation skills to small, medium and large-sized audiences
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Able to represent Expedia in local markets, build Expedia's company profile with key influencers (e.g.
tourism bureau, hotel association, etc.)
and provide expertise to the local industry
- Knowledge of hospitality and technology industries highly desirable
- Build & Maintain Teams:

- Able to work independently (as well as be a strong team player), manage a wide variety of projects and partners simultaneously
- Drives high standards for individual, team, and organizational accomplishment
- Ability to develop creative new ideas and innovative solutions to make the team win
- Energetic, highly motivated with a can-do attitude.
- Ability to travel up to 25-50%
