High school diploma or equivalent

Amazon is seeking a data-driven Financial Analyst to support the Vendor Investigations and Transaction Accuracy (VITA) team in Accounts Payable. We are looking for a strong individual contributor that will take ownership and drive change in a dynamic global business environment reviewing large amounts of data quickly to reach accurate conclusions. This individual will ensure Amazon's Finance Operations processes stay ahead of risks in the vendor payments area, including internal control effectiveness, erroneous payment detection and prevention, and vendor risk analysis through a culture of continuous inspection of processes, systems, and key business initiatives.

The Vendor Investigations and Transaction Accuracy team in Accounts Payable is looking for a VITA Analyst I, who has both. This position is responsible for efficiently performing high-quality reviews of transactional data. You will be helping to carry out the vision and mission of the VITA team: to detect, prevent, and recover erroneous payments to vendors across Amazon globally. We are a growing team of investigators in four locations.
Key job responsibilities
**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
- Understand Amazon's policies and procedures on invoice entry and transaction processing
- Daily real-time monitoring of AP transactions: review large amounts of payment data from multiple Amazon invoicing, payment and procurement systems to identify high-risk transactions
- Identify issues that require escalation and communicate them in a timely manner.
- Maintain the productivity and quality targets set
- Perform risk assessment over key processes in AP and finance operations in general
- Support other team members on any activities assigned to the team as a whole
- Propose process improvement ideas and work to implement solutions to increase efficiency
Heredia, H, CRI
- 1+ years of relevant experience in AP, Procurement or other Amazon teams
- Bachelor college degree preferred
- Experience performing financial and ad hoc data analysis using Excel
- Passion for learning and diving deep in complex issues
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to both internal and external customers
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
