**Job Description**:
This role will be an integral team member of the Accounting team, reporting to the Director, International & General Accounting. Key tasks in this role are coordination and communication with multiple teams within the Costa Rica location, with the third party accounting service (TMF) and with the corporate teams in the US to support accurate reporting and results. A good understanding of local statutory requirements and local taxes is critical. Much of the daily tasks and responsibilities involve verification and/or approval of transactions. Eventually, this entity will be converted to the Workday system and this role will play a critical role in supporting that transition and also once live in Workday. In this role, having the ability to communicate with multiple levels and in both English and Spanish are very important. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate and communicate closely with third party firm (TMF) on multiple types of transactions related to Accounts Payable, Payroll, or T&E.
- Launch payments in the AP report, according to payments received from the Office Manager and TMF.
- Calculate and verify all taxes received for payment from TMF.
- Review and verify monthly invoices for areas such as medical and dental plans, meal tickets, TMF's invoices, and credit card invoices (when applicable).
- Approve all payments launched by TMF at bank.
- Follow through with payment on the monthly transfer pricing invoice and marketing invoices working with the Bank of America and negotiating the exchange rate. Occasionally includes invoices from outside of Costa Rica, where vendor was paid in the US.
- Collect all approved Expense Reports from Office Manager and submit to TMF to be launched and reimbursed.
- Address any refunds from employees, where personal expense was submitted on corporate credit card.
- Order credit cards for new employees, block and unblock cards, and suspend cards.
- Administrate and update information on bank as it relates to employees. Ensure control limits are set to the company policy.
- Support employees and help address issues on credit cards.
- Follow up and approve payments at bank, agreeing to payroll report provided by TMF and with US Payroll department.
- Verify deductions for benefits.
- Coordinate and communicate with R&D team on Project time tracking within Workday system.
- This will likely include assisting with time reporting and related issues.
- Coordinate and communicate closely with third party firm (TMF) and with Accounting and Treasury.
- In general, provide support with US Accounting team in coordinating with TMF, especially where language differences may provide challenge.
- Provide support as it relates to taxes to the US Accounting team or US Tax team.
- Perform cash forecast as requested by Treasury.
- Monitor bank account balance and request refunds to disbursement account.
- Coordinate and communicate with the legal team in US and in Costa Rica to support reporting for free trade zone.
- Serve as the local Facility Manager. This includes local facility requests and issues including, but not limited to, new building access requests, parking passes, maintenance issues, ordering of supplies and work with the NA Vendor Manager to escalate or assist with larger purchases where needed.

Essential Education, Skills, and Experience
- Knowledge of local statutory requirements, understanding of local taxes and requirements of free trade zone required.
- 5-7 years professional accounting and/or office management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance strongly preferred.
- High regard for confidential information and sound professional judgement.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude, flexibility, and desire to learn.
- Proficient computer, organizational, analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
- Must have a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with exchange rates and working with local banks.

Additional Requirements:

- Professional level fluency in both English and Spanish required.
