The **Accountant II** will support the North America accounting function within the Life Sciences Solutions Group (LSG) of Thermo Fisher Scientific.
As a member of the Revenue team, key responsibilities include:
- Maintain and manage sales invoice listing reports
- Ensures compliance with US GAAP, the company's revenue recognition policies and SOX controls
- Reviews and analyzes sales orders and service agreements to evaluate and identify potential revenue recognition issues (i.e.
complex language, omissions of data, necessary additions, language changes)
- Collects and reviews documentation (i.e.
proof of delivery, customer acceptance) to ensure revenue recognition conditions have been met
- Documents work product using available systems and tools
- Participates in projects related to process improvement
- Supports ad-hoc tasks and requests as needed

**Key Differentiators**:
- Accounting background (GL and revenue recognition experience a plus)
- Experience with automated accounting (ERP) systems (HFM, SAP, JD Edwards/E1, Oracle R12 a plus)
- Life science industry experience a plus
**Education and Work Experience**:
- Bachelor's degree (Finance or Accounting)
- 1+ year of accounting experience
