**Title**:Accountant

**Reports to**: Accounting Manager

**Classification**: Exempt

**Status**: Regular Full-time

**Location**: San Jose, Costa Rica (On-site)

The Accountant position is responsible for reporting financial information, preparing financial reports, monitoring KPIs, and analyzing trends, financial commitments and obligations to forecast future activity. Manufacturing experience is preferred.

**Responsibilities**:

- Document financial transactions by entering account information.
- Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other financial reports.
- Produce accurate accounting reports and present their results.
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile financial transactions.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Assist in the budget planning process.
- Perform treasury functions such as reconciling bank statements and accounts, cash management, foreign exchange, and regulatory compliance.
- Support and strengthen the goals and strategies implemented and structured for the Shared Services

**Job Requirements and skills**
- Must have intermediate understanding of accounting and reporting standards.
- Must have a solid understanding of basic accounting procedures and principles.
- Must be proficient in English and in MS Office
- Must have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must have high interest for numbers and quantitative skills.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Bachelor's Degree is required.
- 3-5 years accounting and financial work experience
