**Position Expectations**:
The key traits, responsibilities and functions of the role include:
- Experience developing APIs built using AWS API gateway, AWS Lambda, ideally with python.
- Be a thought leader and share your knowledge crossing REST/OpenAPI, XML, JSON, SOAP, GraphQL, and Streaming designs.
- Identify, design, develop, test, and release high quality, secure functionality as efficiently as possible.
- Consistently identify opportunities to optimize and automate processes and workflow.
- Serverless code deployments, using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins etc.
- Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives.
- Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with architecture, security and quality guidelines and standards.
- Experience in developing scalable, secure, and highly available systems.
- Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of data system or component; identifies defects and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into data system architecture.
- Works with the software and data engineering team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.
- Typically, interacts with high-level Individual Contributors, Managers and Program Teams daily/weekly.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
**Qualifications**:
We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a consistent record of professional and personal achievement. Creativity, initiative, resourcefulness and an entrepreneurial spirit are a must, in addition to the following:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or software engineering or related field with significant software and computer science course work.
- 4+ years of hands-on expertise with broad range of AWS Cloud Services such as Redshift, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, S3, SNS, SQS, Dynamo DB etc.
- Experience with AWS API Gateway.
- Leverage monitoring tools/frameworks, like Splunk, Grafana, CloudWatch etc.
- Solid understanding of Rest API
- Experience working on CI/CD processes such as Jenkins, Codewayetc. and source control tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, etc.
- Experience with API develop/test/validate tools such as Swagger, Postman, SoapUI, Insomnia etc.
- Experience with API performance (memory utilization) tools such as AWS Xray.
- Strong experience in coding languages like Python & Java
- MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent relational database query language experience.
- Experience architecting API design patterns and best practices.
- Experience and knowledge of API security principles and practices, such as authentication, encryption, access control, and handling sensitive data, is important to ensure the security and integrity of the APIs.
- API documentation experience in writing clear and concise API documentation to help other developers understand how to use your APIs effectively.
- Worked in an API First/API as Product environment.
Nice to have experience.
- GraphQL is desirable.
- SQLAlchemy a python toolkit experience is desirable.
- Experience with container management frameworks such as Docker, Kubernetes, ECR etc.
- Design and implement distributed data processing pipelines using Spark/SQL prevalent in the Big Data/Lakehouse ecosystem.
- Experience of design/development in micro services architecture.
- Experience in pub/sub streaming technologies like Kafka, Kinesis, etc.
