ROLE SUMMARY
The Digital Hosting Solutions (DHS) team represents the Digital Center of Excellence (CoE) for cloud infrastructure capabilities, providing foundational public and private cloud services to all business lines, globally across Pfizer. DHS is a high-performing team, focused on delivering secure, scalable, compliant, operationally viable, and cost-effective cloud solutions. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Pfizer Engineers must operate with the highest levels of integrity, as colleagues within DHS are often entrusted with the highest levels of access to development and production environments. The ability to protect confidential information, identify risks, mitigate non-compliance, and operate within defined policies & procedures is a must.
- Design, develop, and maintain IaC solutions using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM Templates, to manage and automate cloud infrastructure across multiple platforms (AWS, Azure, and GCP).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement robust cloud architectures, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
- Establish and enforce best practices for IaC, including code reviews, documentation, and testing to ensure quality and maintainability.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to other team members, sharing knowledge and expertise on cloud infrastructure and IaC best practices.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in software development and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including the deployment and management of cloud resources using IaC.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Demonstrated experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) and DevOps methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and strong business acumen.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP, such as Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Cloud Engineer.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and security standards in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Prior experience in leading or mentoring a team of software engineers.
This role will regularly interact with members of the Digital Hosting Solutions (DHS) Team, other groups within Enterprise Platforms & Security (EP&S) including the EP&S Finance & Portfolio Team, and Solution Teams within the Digital Creation Centers.
This role is also expected to interface directly with Pfizer Digital Creation Centers, who are customers of DHS solutions for the purposes of sharing cloud usage and cost data, providing optimization recommendations and assisting, where appropriate, in the execution of optimization recommendations.
Strong relationships will be expected with key external suppliers including Amazon, Microsoft, and Google.
