Lead Research Analyst

We are seeking for Research Analysts to join our Latam Specialist Threat Finance team, dedicated to the coverage of international sanctions notices and in-depth research of topics such as organised crime, terrorism, modern slavery, wildlife trafficking, cybercrime, corruption and financial crimes, among others.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitoring of international sanctioning bodies worldwide.
- Inclusion of sanctions notices in our database (as soon as published by authorities and with outstanding attention to details and quality of the work).
- Conduct investigative research on assigned in-depth topics (as per above).
- Analyze a wide range of data sources in local languages to produce structured content (in English).
- Maintain a high level of regional and country expertise by supervising diverse sources for relevant developments.
- Ensure accuracy and quality of findings by staying in sync with guidelines, policies and applicable laws.
- Ability to work independently, providing regular status updates on research projects to manager.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with teams across offices in multiple time zones, in a multicultural and multilingual environment.

- Must be results oriented and proactive in finding topics, sources, trends, etc.
- Must be participative, willing to collaborate with the team.
- Must be inventive, willing to look for innovative solutions and tools.
- Must have ability to prioritize optimally in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure.
- Must have availability and willingness to work overtime, if required by Sanctions publications.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience. Preferably in international relations, political science, history, foreign languages and translation, literature, journalism or humanities fields.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English languages, both spoken and written (sophisticated level).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) (sophisticated level).
- Previous experience in research and proficiency in basic research tools (e.g. search engines).

Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Costumer (KYC).
- Previous work experience related to Sanctions (OFAC, UN, EU).
- Writing skills (both in English and Spanish).
- Previous experience as speaker (e.g. training, guiding, as key-note speaker, etc).
- Previous experience working with databases and information.
- Studies related to risk topics in LATAM (terrorism, narcotics trafficking, etc).
