We are seeking a dynamic professional to fill the role of Business Intelligence Data Engineer to support our operational efficiency program and business operations. In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our team's data architecture, integration solutions, and Tableau-based business intelligence (BI) reporting and visualization.
**Responsibilities**:
**Database Design and Management**:
- Design, develop, and maintain the organization's database architecture, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Define and implement data models, schemas, and structures to support business requirements and data analysis needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable database designs.
**ETL Development**:
- Develop and maintain robust Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to integrate data from multiple sources into the database.
- Design and implement data transformation workflows to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integrity.
- Optimize ETL processes for performance and efficiency, minimizing processing time and resource utilization.
**Data Integration and Management**:
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to automate the extraction, transformation, and loading of data from source systems to the target database.
- Ensure data quality and consistency throughout the integration process, implementing data validation and error handling mechanisms.
Tableau Development and BI Reporting:
- Develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations in Tableau to present data insights and analysis.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective visualizations.
- Implement best practices for data visualization, including storytelling, interactivity, and usability.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience in database architecture, ETL development, data engineering, and Tableau development roles.
- Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and ETL tools (e.g., AWS Glue, Apache Spark, Talend).
- Strong understanding of data modeling principles, database design concepts, and data integration techniques.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services for data storage and processing.
- Proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server, with a strong understanding of Tableau features and functionalities.
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices and principles, with the ability to create compelling and insightful visualizations.
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases for data querying and manipulation.
- Experience working in an agile environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Tableau certification(s) preferred, but not required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
